Yahoo! has acquired PeerCDN which is a growing and known organization and also known as “a next-generation content delivery network.”
Yahoo’s latest acquisition could be of major benefit to the search engine. PeerCDN's technology makes websites quicker at lower bandwidth costs.
Update from PeerCDN post on it’s website says. “ “When we started PeerCDN, our vision was to build a next-generation content delivery network — cheaper, faster, and easier than existing solutions. As PeerCDN grew, we found that many developers were ecstatic about fast response times and reduced bandwidth costs, but even more were excited by the new experiences that order-of-magnitude cheaper bandwidth would enable.”
Marrisa Mayer, CEO in recent months has made decision to acquire Tumblr for $1.1 billion, e-mail management startup Xobni for $70 million and popular news-reading app Summly for nearly $30 million.
