Xiaomi has recently celebrated its fifth anniversary by setting up an event in China, and the company is launching few of its amazing products to celebrate the occasion. One of them was the new 55-inch Mi TV 2 that is priced at RMB 4,999 (approximately INR 50,000).
It has arrived in the market just a week after the company launched the 40-inch Mi TV 2 in China. If we see the the specification then this bigger Mi TV2 is slimmer than its 49-inch predecessor. It also comes with a 15.2mm ultra-thin frame and 6mm bezel.
This newly launched Mi TV 2 comes with a Samsung HD 4K (3840×2160) panel and powered by a MStar 6A928 quad-core 1.4GHz processor paired with Mali-760 MP4 GPU. The company says that it has re-designed the Bluetooth subwoofer and sound bar. It comes with a Dolby MS12 virtual surround sound system. Other features include a 2GB DDR3 RAM and 8 gigs of eMMC5.0 flash storage. For this Mi TV 2, the new version supports H.265 codec, and out of the box support for popular media formats including MKV, and MP4 among others. It also supports the Dual-band 802.11ac WiFi. This TV also supports 3D movie playback. It will be running on Android 4.4 KitKat with MIUI skin on top, which enables this TV to support android apps and games.
The new Mi TV 2 is available for purchase in the China starting today. There’s no update on availability in other countries. But the good news is that the company last month announced that it will debut in United States and Europe markets later this year.
At the event of Mi TV 2 launch, the company also announced a cheap variant of its already very popular Redmi series of smartphone. The new variant is called the Redmi 2A and costs just $96. The company also launched a weight scale called the Mi Smart Weight Scale, which costs just $16. Along with this, Xiaomi also unveiled a Mi Note Pink Edition and a Mi Smart Plug Board which costs just 8 bucks. Lets experience the products performance once they are available over market.
