How to choose an eCommerce platform?

Posted By: Arin Dey - August 18, 2017
Since last 10 years, E-commerce has been growing steadily in popularity. Online sales got hiked up nearly 15% last year across the board, and they’re predicted to only increase in the future. If you are going to start a business and selling products or services, an ecommerce site would be best suited in this online sales growth.

How to choose an eCommerce platform?

If you want to start a new business, that would be always challenging, but moving away from the traditional store outlet to an online space can be a little daunting; especially with so many options for you to start with. Because of various options, choosing an ecommerce platform is so difficult for many business owners. If you want to figure out what your store will need as you grow and keeping up with trends is a challenge, but it is much worth. You have to think and find ways ahead of time and that will help you choose a platform an easier process to achieve online success.

1. Payment:

The utmost consideration while searching for an ecommerce platform should be the price and payment. If you are a small business and a newly started or an already established physical outlet business moving online, you need to know exactly what you’ll be paying for the service.

2. SEO:

Ecommerce businesses are not benefited from working on their SEO. In fact, it can be highly beneficial to have your store rank high in search results. If you want your customers to find you when they’re searching for products that you offer, list your products and try to rank your page higher.

3. Scalability

Every business owner expects their business will grow in the future, but you may not know to what extent. So, it’s important to look for a platform that will scale along with your business.

4. Security

You will never want to enter your credit card information on any website, which is why security is becoming one of the biggest concerns among consumers.

5. Integrations

You should consider "integrations and plugins" when looking at ecommerce platforms. Almost all of the platforms, such as Shopify, will have plenty of tools for you to run your business.

6. Mobile Friendliness

Are you aware of the fact that nearly 60% of searches are done from mobile devices? Often those searches continue on to a purchase from a mobile device itself.

7. Customer Service

Biggest aspect of any business is its customer service. As the experience provided by traditional outlet businesses is based in a physical store, they typically have more control over how smoothly their business runs.

Here is a list of the most popular e-commerce platforms on the market today, along with why you might want to consider using each for your new e-commerce store. These are Miva, 3Dcart, Magento, Zoey Commerce, Nucleus, WooCommerce, OroCommerce, Shopify, Bigcommerce, & Volusion etc. This list is just a basic overview of some of the most popular e-commerce solutions out there. Posted By: Arin Dey - September 08, 2014
Twitter, the hugely popular micro-blogging site is testing an option for users that enables them to buy products on Twitter. Currently, a small percentage of U.S. users will see a “Buy” button on tweets from a group of brands, organizations and celebrities tweets.

How To Purchase Products Via Twitter Tweets

Twitter group product manager Tarun Jain posted on its blog that “This is an early step in our building functionality into Twitter to make shopping from mobile devices convenient and easy, hopefully even fun. Users will get access to offers and merchandise they can’t get anywhere else and can act on them right in the Twitter apps for Android and iOS; sellers will gain a new way to turn the direct relationship they build with their followers into sales.”

Lets see how to buy on Twitter?

Certain sellers will be showing their products as available for purchase within your Twitter timeline. There will be a Buy button within the Tweet that enables you to make purchase the product.

Simple steps to buy:
  • You have to tap the Buy button within the Tweet
  • You will be prompted to an expanded description and image of the product.
  • Now select your variant and tap Buy Now
  • Following the selection of the product you have to feel up your billing and shipping information
  • Tap on Confirm to make purchase.
You are done. Now the Twitter team will send your order to the seller who will reach out directly with shipping and support information for your order.

But as of now the only limitation is that this in-Tweet purchasing is currently available for United States users only on Twitter for iPhone or Twitter for Android apps.

Pocket Change Introduces e-Wallet

Posted By: Arin Dey - April 19, 2014
Pocket Change is a new way to transfer money electronically. initially it was a project to create a mobile app for parents to be able to remind kids to do their chores and pay them by transferring money to their debit cards. What’s come from it is a reloadable Visa debit card that links with users’ credit card, debit and bank accounts. Pocket Change is a Smartphone app which continues to monitors all of them.

Pocket Change Introduces e-Wallet

Myles Binford said in a press release that “Pocket Change is a multi-functional e-wallet that will allow you to transfer funds to or from any bank account or card you link to through the software app."

Users are able to make purchases from online merchants and can transfer money to anyone with a debit card or bank account by using their e-mail address, Twitter handle or their Facebook account.

So no need to carry cash. Binford stated that “Development of this application really started when my daughter came to me and said, ‘Dad, I want allowance. I reached in my pocket and realized that I don’t carry cash anymore. So I decided to figure out a way to use my Smartphone to transfer money from my checking account onto a card that she would be able to use at school or at the mall.”

It is also true that there should be more security regarding this. The debit card can be turned on and off at anytime through the app and all online purchases made with Pocket Change are done so using a temporary CCV number, assigned at the time of purchase and valid for 20 minutes only.

He also added that “It wouldn’t matter if a card thief knew your name, your card number, your card’s expiration date, and the CCV number you used for a purchase last night. They could not make a purchase with your card this morning, as they would not have a valid three-digit CCV number. And if this patented card security protocol isn’t enough to put your mind at ease, your money and your account are 100 percent insured from loss by Visa, MasterCard, and the FDIC.”
