Samsung Smart Watches Apps [Infographic]

Samsung have prepared an interesting infographic that will direct us in all the benefits of smart watches, from the obvious, such as notification of received messages and calls, through the application of exercise or maintenance of the child, to the futuristic things like translating a foreign language in real-time.

Samsung Gear ™ applications are compatible with devices driven by Tizen mobile OS (Galaxy Gear, Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo), Samsung Gear Live uses the Android platform Wear and Galaxy Fit contains special.

Samsung Launches Gear S Watch

Since last year this buzz ir all around the web that Samsung would come up with its new model of Gear S Watch. So Samsung has unveiled its Gear S watch. This is a small, wearable device was presented by CEO of the company. Samsung Electronics’ chief executive officer and head of IT and mobile communication said, the company is “leading this exciting and rapidly developing wearable category through progressive innovation.”

JK Shin, in a press release, said “The Samsung Gear S redefines the idea of the smart wearable and the culture of mobile communication. It will let consumers live a truly connected life anywhere, anytime." 

Oh! yes. He’s absolutely right. The new model is much more advanced than the company’s previous watches that were seen with many and should allow owners to break away from their Smartphones. The Gear S comes with enhanced multi-sensors, built-in GPS and a number of S Health features. An useful app called Nike + Running that will allow users to track their runs Samsung Gear S has 3G connectivity, allow wearers to remain up-to-date on messages and social network activities. You can make and receive phone calls. It has two-inch curved Super AMOLED display. You can also sync with a user’s Smartphone to have calls forwarded.

Lets hear the noise it makes once comes to the market.

Competitors Of Samsung Galaxy Gear Smartwatch

Wearable technology is going to be the next top notch topic in the world of technology. Samsung has already attracted a lot of people with its new Galaxy Gear smart watch, even in the presence of most reviewed products like Apple iWatch and Google Glass in the market. In fact, now other than Samsung, Apple and Google in this segment  many other competitors of this device are already present in this technology segment.

Let us see the features of Samsung Galaxy Gear, along with those of its rivals by Sony, Qualcomm and other small branded companies.

Samsung Galaxy Gear :

This is a smart gadget which can make and receive phone calls, read text messages and emails, track workouts and capture photos and videos. The Galaxy Gear features a 1.6-inch SuperAMOLED touchscreen with 320x320p resolution. This device is powered by Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) and runs on 800MHz processor and 512MB RAM. It can pair with Samsung’s Android 4.3-powered devices like Galaxy Note III phablet and Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. Priced at $299, the Galaxy Gear lasts for over a day on a single charge.

Sony Smartwatch 2 :

Introduced in June 2013, it can pair with any device running on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) or higher. This gadget supports apps like Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, Calendar, Weather and shows text messages and calls.

This smartwatch has a 1.6-inch screen with 220x176ppi resolution and can last up to a week on a single charge.


Qualcomm Toq :

It is one of the most featured smart watches and has an always-on Mirasol trans-reflective display. Like other smart devices it can link with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) gadgets via Bluetooth. It shows notifications such as calls, text messages as well as music player and helps monitor fitness exercises via apps similar to other smart watches. It has a 1.5-inch display and the most talked feature of this gadget is its battery life of 3-4 days. It will continue to add functionalities in this watch via software updates. It is priced at approximately $300 and available with an optional Bluetooth headset.

Distinguished and unique feature of the Qualcomm Toq is wireless charging, which sets it apart from rival products in this segment as no other brands have this unique feature.
Pebble :  

Like other rivals it can pair with Android and iOS devices also and shows notifications about incoming calls, text messages, contact information, music controls etc. It is priced at $150, is a product of a crowdfunded project that raised $10 million. It has a 1.26-inch E-Ink display, similar to the ones used in e-book readers.

Distinguished and unique feature of the Peeple  is waterproof and it can connect with Apple and Android gadgets both via Bluetooth 4.0 LE.
Kreyos Meteor :

Like Samsung galaxy Gear, it also responds to voice commands and you can also use the buttons on the sides to control this device. But the main drawback is that it does not have a touchscreen.  It is priced at $169 and like other smart phones it can pair with Android, iOS and Windows Phone devices. This device has apps like Calendar, Timer, Daily Activity Tracker, Alarm Clock and comes with a sports mode to track fitness also.

Distinguished and unique feature of the Kreyos Meteor is that it supports gesture control.
MetaWatch :

It ca pair with Android and Apple devices. Like other smart devices it offers users to check messages and incoming and missed calls, control music, view weather etc. with six buttons that control features like customization, widgets, notifications etc. It has featured with Bluetooth 4.0 and it has battery life of 5-7 days.


Distinguished and unique feature of the MetaWatch is that it is resistant to water up to 3ATM
Cookoo :

While all the rivals are having a good touch screen, Cookoo has an analogue watch-face but shows notifications coming from Apple devices. Similar to other devices, common features are there like showing incoming calls, Facebook messages and posts, Twitter mentions, reminders, Google Voice SMSs, emails, alarm and timers.

Distinguished and unique feature of the Cookoo is that it notifies if the paired device is out of range and notifies if the iPhone or iPad have low battery.

Nissan Nismo Watch :

It has similar features like other smart watches but specially invented for Nissan's car functionalities notifications. It claims to be the first watch to connect car and driver. Nissan's smart watch will aim to track a range of car and driver stats, monitoring not only biometric data from the driver, but also feeding you information like your fuel consumption and performance data when track racing, along with your social network performance. It will use a snap-fit mechanism to attach to the wrist, with a simple interface controlled by a pair of buttons. Nissan says that it will charge via Micro-USB with a 7-day battery life in normal use.

Distinguished and unique feature is that it will connect the watch and the car via a smartphone app using Bluetooth LE, so the watch will be a companion.
