Nowadays people can find your Facebook profile in almost all major search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing, ASK. Since facebook is considered as the topmost brand among all the social networking media and have alexa rank #2 with Google PageRank(PR) 10/10 so all the major search engines mostly Google indexed all most every pages of facebook including your profile page and brings into the first or second pages. It becomes very easy to find their friends or family or strangers easily by Google search engine by typing their real names.

There are a lot of people who don't want to expose their identity of Facebook profile into Google or other search engines and don't want to get unwanted friend requests even. In this case you can prevent your Facebook profile getting indexed in Google and other search engines. Here I will discuss how can you do that with some easy steps:
  1. Log in to Facebook Account
  2. Go to Account (on top right) -> Click on Privacy Settings
  3. Go down and click on Edit Settings under Apps and Websites. as shown below:
    hide facebook profile in google
  4. Then click on Edit settings under Public search. as shown below:

  5. Here you need to unchecked Enable public search under Public search. as shown below:

      6. Make sure you have unchecked the box and immediately a popup will come up asking to                  Confirm.

Now I have done with all the steps. Normally it takes time and will not index your Facebook profile in various search engines.
