Google To Introduce Child-Friendly Versions of Search, YouTube

Posted By: Arin Dey - December 07, 2014
Google has finally concentrating on the large demographic i.e. under age group 12 by introducing a filtered search. Pavni Diwanji, the vice-president of Google engineering told USA TODAY that it has plans to modify all of its most popular products — search, YouTube and Chrome and this time is for children.

Google To Introduce Child-Friendly Versions of Search, YouTube

Diwanji, who is a mom to daughters aged eight and 13, told the publication that “The big motivator inside the company is everyone is having kids, so there’s a push to change our products to be fun and safe for children. We expect this to be controversial, but the simple truth is kids already have the technology in schools and at home. So the better approach is to simply see to it that the tech is used in a better way.”

The project is full-time and Google is eagerly planning it to get set go, Diwanji didn't confirm that when parents can see the new services to be introduced.

She added “We want to be thoughtful about what we do, giving parents the right tools to oversee their kids’ use of our products. We want kids to be safe, but ultimately it’s about helping them be more than just pure consumers of tech, but creators, too.”

Google will definitely be able to make the Internet a little more kid-friendly. What do you think?

Google Introduces Offline Mode To YouTube In India

Posted By: Arin Dey - September 16, 2014
After Google launched its low-cost fully featured Android One smartphones initiative in India, it added one more announcement and that is about YouTube. YouTube users in India will be able to save videos offline and watch them anywhere, any time, without a data connection. This announcement was made at an event in Gurgaon, India.

Google Introduces Offline Mode To YouTube In India

Ceasar Sengupta, YouTube executive announced at the event in India that "YouTube is popular here. You watch some videos again and again. How awesome would it be if you could keep watching them again and again without having to pay for data, and take the videos with you wherever you go?" said "Within the coming few weeks, much of YouTube will be available offline in India. This is huge, and our users will really, really like this. You can download a video once, save it to your phone, and watch it again and again."

It is not clear at the moment whether this new offline option is restricted to YouTube in India, or if this will be an Android only feature, but in either case, it is a big step forward for consumers here. Users will be able to save almost any video on the streaming service to their phones, tablets or computers. One interesting consideration here is to see how YouTube will be able to monetise these videos which are stored offline. Google did not mention as to when offline availability will launch in the country, nor has it stated whether the service will be available in other countries.

Hopefully it will introduce this service to other regions also. Lets wait for its official release for this offline "YouTube" mode.

Yahoo's video service will be like a more elite version of YouTube. It will be only with high-quality and popular video content that will be selected and approved by Yahoo itself, Re/code is reporting.

The search engine firm will release the platform in the future but not now according to the report. Yahoo is basically borrowing its idea for Google's YouTube-like service. It came to know that Yahoo is trying to recruit some of YouTube’s most popular stars with promises of higher advertising revenue and guaranteed advertising rates with better remuneration. No idea where these are rumors or not but it is also heard that channel owners will receive more marketing with some even being featured on Yahoo’s home page.

It is not a new or unexpected effort from CEO Marissa Mayer because she has put major focus on the improvement of the company’s social offerings and she has been doing it since last year. This video service is going to generate more online advertising revenue. No clue received whether it will be linked to Yahoo News which is being headed by popular TV news personality Katie Couric. It is also reported in some sources that Yahoo may nab popular entertainment host Ryan Seacrest for its promotion and marketing purposes.

Google To Reduce Fake YouTube Views

Posted By: Arin Dey - February 06, 2014
Google has recently noticed huge number of fake views for videos shared on YouTube. Google referred it as "fraudulent" views and warned several users also. As per Google reports, there are various tools available online for people to redirect or buy views. It is also found that there are a number of third-party marketing firms that do sell fake YouTube view to content creators for considerable amount per work.

Google To Reduce fake YouTube Views

Google didn't reveal that how many "fake" views YouTube videos have been tracked. They think that fake views are putting a negative impact on what YouTube is all about, and Google will ensure that it will reduce this fraudulent online activities. Google software engineer Philipp Pfeiffenberger explained in a blog post:
"When some bad actors try to game the system by artificially inflating view counts, they're not just misleading fans about the popularity of a video, they're undermining one of YouTube's most important and unique qualities.
As part of our long-standing effort to keep YouTube authentic and full of meaningful interactions, we've begun periodically auditing the views a video has received. While in the past we would scan views for spam immediately after they occurred, starting today we will periodically validate the video's view count, removing fraudulent views as new evidence comes to light. We don't expect this approach to affect more than a minuscule fraction of videos on YouTube, but we believe it's crucial to improving the accuracy of view counts and maintaining the trust of our fans and creators."
So this is the effort by which Google is trying to ensure that advertisers won't gather to other social networking websites such as Facebook and Twitter. Lets see how Google can authentic YouTube views.

How To Be Popular On YouTube

Posted By: Poketors - August 09, 2013
No introduction is needed when it comes to massively popular brand name "YouTube". We do search videos on tutorials, how-to guides, fun clips, entertainment/ movie trailer or full movie and many a times we do share our personal videos where we celebrated birthday or had a rocking party. So we have a tendency to be popular and get noticed online among our friends and acquaintances.

How to be popular in YouTube? There are few steps, we named as "fantastic four steps" which will be helpful to get more views, likes, subscribers and obviously get noticed on web. Getting popular in a day is not easy at all; we should have patience and do some really hard work to be more popular gradually over time.

Here we go with the steps :

1. Uploading Videos and Consistency :

Opening an YouTube channel and uploading video is the first step which will bring into notice over YouTube network. Obviously before uploading you should have an interesting topic for the "to be uploaded video". A lot of people upload videos and stay unnoticed because they are not at all consistent and they upload video once in a month or two. As we said earlier getting subscribers is not an easy task and it involves hard work and dedication and obviously consistency where you are supposed to upload videos once in a day or two instead of month. Remember one thing people will subscribe to your channel only if you have decent amount of informative or entertaining videos uploaded over YouTube. Basically you have to be very much consistent in uploading videos and pay attention on the trend how many people are come and watching those videos so that you would have fair idea for future uploads.

2. Labels or Tags

Labels or Tags are most important in search engines because it helps your channel be found while searching with a topic. Label or tag is the "keyword" by which people will search and get the similar topic listed. Suppose a user wants a video on "how to upgrade latest android version in your phone?". Here the main keyword will be "android". You can also add keywords "upgrade" and "phone". This is a simple example which shows adding tags would be helpful. So add more and more tags relevant to you videos.

3. Views, Likes & Subscribers

The reason for your upload is definitely "sharing the videos with viewers". If have to have some fan base so that you can start your sharing video campaign and get encouragement for uploading more. First and foremost, share the videos within your friend circle and if required use some tools to get views and likes resulting more subscribes to your channel.

4.  Quality :

People upload a lot of videos in every minute but how many of them get notices and are able to bag great number of likes and views? Almost very few of them because they don't use good quality video recording camera or equipment to shoot that. Just ask yourself that which one you do prefer a good quality with clarity or a blur/hazy one? You got your answer. Always concentrate on the quality part because viewers will compare your video with others as similar topic may be covered by others too.

As YouTube's tag line says Broadcast Yourself, its simple that you have to broadcaster for yourself.
We have suggested our fantastic four steps and hope it would be helpful to be popular in YouTube.

YouTube for Students & Teachers - SchoolTube

Posted By: Poketors - April 11, 2012
Sharing video content is an essential component of social media and more than often a key factor in assembling an award winning content strategy. Since YouTube paved the way for a public domain where a user can upload a video within seconds from their phone, it’s been tough to compete and stay relevant in such a vast space. This doesn't stop the content from pouring in. People share opinions from their desks, well thought out productions, and just short clips of viral incidents.

YouTube for Students & Teachers - SchoolTube

Other times off of YouTube there are well thought out programs targeted towards specific communities. For these programs, YouTube acts as a double-edged sword. In one hand you have the maximum level of exposure possible in the online video platform, but you’re competing against quality content and could easily dwindle into oblivion. With a secure content strategy in mind, SchoolTube addressed this by creating their own private community sharing video content between students, teachers, and schools digitally.

SchoolTube.com allows students and teachers to showcase their video content and multimedia in a better way than just sitting back and digesting lesson plans. Some of their video content is clearly for fun while the majority of it is educational. There are videos for teachers specifically and then others for students. That’s good considering teachers like videos too. Why wouldn’t they? And I’m sure both them and the students now have a reason to finally get down to business and jump off of cat videos on YouTube.

Students & Teachers - SchoolTube

The company has partnered with numerous educational groups to ensure the content they are distributing has adequate resources, is factually accurate, and well moderated. SchoolTube is doing a great job in establishing a community for online education, but that can open up quite a can of worms if for social media villains who would want to ruin a good time. Fortunately SchoolTube is on top of that.

Setting up private communities within the video space is something that has been done before, but to do so for the benefit of education is unique for two reasons: The difference between content for students vs. teachers / The fact that there is no universal curriculum or universal learning level and that the content acts as a complimentary resource rather than a main one. SchoolTube is a social marvel for not trying to be something it isn’t – a teacher, rather than a resource for those teachers who wish to offer students a social media benefit. And for the students who digest the content on their own, SchoolTube offers them something students never expect – a head start.

YouTube Hits 4 Billion Online Videos Views

Posted By: Poketors - January 25, 2012
Recently Google's YouTube which is known as the largest online video website has reached a record streaming around 4 billion online videos with a 25 per cent increase in the past eight months. This sudden jump in video views comes as Google redesigned Youtube’s home page recently, and its mobile applications are a staple on smartphones. This will have helped drive up traffic and content, as will its showing more released content and full length titles, that is it started offering more professional-grade content on the site.

YouTube Hits 4 Billion Online Videos Views

Google revealed that roughly 60 hours of video is now uploaded to YouTube every minute, compared with the 48 hours of video uploaded per minute in May.

Googles business running graphical “display” ads – many of which are integrated alongside YouTube videos – was generating $5 billion in revenue on an annualised run rate basis.

Still, most of the 4 billion videos that YouTube now streams worldwide every day do not make money. Three billion YouTube videos a week are monetised, according to the company.
