Samsung’s entry into the VR space with a product has been in news since few months. It means the company will be competing against Facebook’s Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus, Sony’s VR headset which are already known to VR space.
Very less info has been unveiled till now. Engadget reported that the product features an OLED screen and will be compatible with different Samsung phones. It is fact that there are not a lot of details available on the product but it seems that this product would definitely be comprises of features.
Samsung site reflects as “Given VR’s reliance on immediacy, a wired setup is a requirement (any lag introduced breaks the immersion, and often makes people sick). It’s also not clear how, or if, Samsung’s VR headset tracks head movement depth-wise. In the case of both Project Morpheus and Oculus Rift, separate cameras face the player and track depth by reading sensors on the respective headsets.”
Samsung uses Android so it is expected that the headset will be compatible with Android games.
