It better categorizes e-mails and displays important information such as flight itineraries, event information, and photos and documents from friends and family in separate categories.

Inbox builds upon the categories introduced in Gmail last year. The basic concept behind it is grouping similar e-mails together. For example, if you have any product purchase bills generated and sent to your Gmail account it will be categorized in Purchase option. Once done with them, they can simply be swiped away. Users can also customize Inbox by selecting which e-mails they want to see grouped together.

If you want an Inbox account you have to send an e-mail to inbox@google.com to get an invitation to use the service.
