Twitter Eliminates Repeat tweets And Retweeted Messages

Posted By: Arin Dey - August 22, 2016
Twitter users will finally get to stop seeing updates and tweets from people they don’t want to. This is similar like Facebook’s ability to stop following certain people.
This will be most easily achieved through the notifications setting on Twitter. Twitter explained this feature should eliminate repeat tweets and retweeted messages.
“Starting today, everyone will have the ability to limit notifications to only people they follow on mobile and on twitter.com. Simply turn it on if you want to give it a go. If not, no worries – your individual Twitter experience will continue unchanged,” Twitter’s product manager, Emil Leong, stated in his blog post. He also added, “We’re also making managing your notifications settings easier: you can now access them directly from your notifications tab.”
Twitter Eliminates Repeat tweets And Retweeted Messages

Leong also explained that, “Turning it on filters lower-quality content, like duplicate Tweets or content that appears to be automated, from your notifications and other parts of your Twitter experience. It does not filter content from people you follow or accounts you’ve recently interacted with – and depending on your preferences, you can turn it on or off in your notifications settings.”

Should You Buy Social Media Followers? [Infographic]

Posted By: Arin Dey - June 12, 2016
When it comes to the murky world of social media, it doesn’t matter how fantastic your products & services are, how good your reputation is or how many awards you have won. Social media users tend to trust brands with a high number of followers and are more likely to follow a company with 10,000 over one with just 500.

Should You Buy Social Media Followers? [Infographic]

Together with SocialNewsDaily people at WhoIsHostingThis?, the infographic below will hopefully be the last word on why filling your social media accounts with fake robot followers is an expensive waste of your time. There are the practical reasons to consider (they’re not real people, they can’t like or share your content, etc.) but WhoIsHostingThis? put together a solid argument for why real beats fake every single time.

Is Snapchat The Next Important Social Platform?

Posted By: Arin Dey - March 28, 2016
Much like how Google, Twitter, and Facebook are getting into the news and publishing game with efforts such as “Instant Articles,” Snapchat has brought its own network of media partners to the table to compete. Snapchat’s “Discover” is a section of the platform reserved for select media companies such as BuzzFeed, Vice, CNN, National Geographic, and others. Daily Mail US CEO, Jon Steinberg, reported that the company’s Snapchat channels received, “hundreds of thousands if not millions of viewers each day.”

Is Snapchat The Next Important Social Platform?

Break free the habit of joining social networks only after they have been overrun by brands and marketers. Now is the time to seize the opportunity that Snapchat provides by becoming an early adopter and claiming your stake before the channel becomes overly crowded and noisy. The site is still largely devoid of corporate presences, so your chances of success are much higher now than they will be in the years, or months, to come.

So, is your brand on Snapchat?

Pinterest Launches Promoted Pins For Advertisers

Posted By: Arin Dey - January 01, 2015
Its been quite few months the promoted pins program was launched in beta with selected brands giving the medium a trial run. Now, as of January 1, any businesses wishing to advertise on Pinterest can opt for it. All the promoted pins look like regular pins but designated with a special ‘promoted pins’ tag.

Pinterest Launches Promoted Pins For Advertisers

Pinterest ad chief Joanne Bradford wrote in a blog post that the site’s tests have revealed that promoted pins work as well or better than organic pins. She added, "Brand advertisers achieved about a 30 percent bump in earned media (free impressions!) from their campaigns. That’s from people who saw a Promoted Pin and thought it was good enough to save to one of their own boards. Engagement is strong— the average Pin is repinned 11 times, and that remains true for Promoted Pins (if not higher).”

Pinterest will also launch Pinstitute which is a new program for businesses to learn how to connect with pinners. She explained, "The Pinstitute will focus on two tracks: creative and measurement. You’ll learn what kind of pins perform well, what pinners care about and how we’re thinking about our products in the future. We’ll also get your feedback on what you’d like to see us do so we can help you get even better results from Pinterest.”

Pinterest plans to invite a “select group of brands and agencies” and the first Pinstitute has been set for March. Webinars will go on air once the Pinstitute agendas are all set.

Posted By: Arin Dey - August 22, 2014
Organizations that are using Instagram, will be happy with this news. Facebook owned this hugely popular app long back and introduced advertising. Accordingly companies have been taking advantage of the photo-sharing network to share their product information but there was no tracking option to see their impact if users have been paying attention on the ads.

Instagram Releases Businesses Needed Tools

On Wednesday, Instagram posted on its blog “We’ve heard from brands that having more insight into how people engage with and respond to their photos and videos is an important part of evolving creatively. We’re excited to announce that over the coming weeks and months, we’ll begin rolling out a new suite of tools to help brands better understand the performance of their paid and organic content on Instagram.”

It is a great news for the companies who have been using Instagram to reach existing and potential customers. The modified ad tools, including a dashboard interface for performance tracking, allows businesses to analyze if the app is helping the target customers.

Tech Crunch has pointed out a very useful feature that the ‘ad staging’ aspect where ads can be built, previewed and worked on prior to being sent out on Instagram.

The blog post also added that “We’ve worked closely with several of our advertising partners to make sure these tools meet their needs. We’re now making them available to all Instagram advertisers, whose feedback will help us improve the product before releasing it to additional brands later this year.”

How To Optimize Your Content For Social Media & SEO

Posted By: Arin Dey - July 09, 2014
A lot of website owners and bloggers always try to keep track on their search engine ranking. Earlier the optimization technique was only about some keywords and phrases into every web page. Nowadays the "keyword stuffing" concept is gone and a new standard of search and social optimization has arrived. Without social media, your site won't rank quickly or it will not even appear in the SERPs. So, you have to optimize for social media and search rankings. You can start thinking of this now for optimizing.

How To Optimize Your Content For Social Media & SEO

Social Media and SEO Aspects :

Social media and search engine optimization are interrelated. The goal of both is to raise up rankings but the approach is different. For social media, you have to think engagement and sharing. Social media practices are:
  1. Increasing organic reach via paid options
  2. Real-time content opportunities via social monitoring
  3. Brand, messaging and calendar managed topics
  4. Engagement – and view – based performance
  5. Short form contents status updates, image tiles and blog posts
For SEO, you have to think strategy, process and tactics. SEO touches everything and enhances the ranking and visibility of a website. Search optimization practices are:
  1. Content and social promotion
  2. Link building
  3. Tactics like quality content generating and more search presence
  4. Keyword-managed content and focuses on search KPIs and conversions
  5. Topics emanating from actual search demand
  6. Technical optimization, including meta descriptions

SEO and Social Media Practices

Optimization doesn't need any mathematical calculation. The below four simple practices make your website healthy :

1: Know the backwards and forwards business model  and focus on their main goals.

2: Optimize for search and share on social media

3: Provide search engines the most relevant and high quality websites and content that meets their search criteria.

If you put a little bit effort on the above aspects and implement them on your website. It will surely give you a positive result.
