How To Boost Your Affiliate Programs In This Holiday Season

Posted By: Arin Dey - December 23, 2014
Affiliate program is always a good source of income for a lot of webmasters and bloggers. So the effort should also be  prepared for the holiday season to make most of this high-traffic time.

How To Boost Your Affiliate Programs In This Holiday Season

You can follow the below mentioned rules which can be considered while working with affiliate program offerings.

1. Inform Affiliates : You can inform affiliates about promotions prior to the offer as it will be easy and also possible for affiliates to promote your brand.

2. Trusting Affiliates : If you trust your affiliate then it will be good for your online deals. Suppose the promotion is confidential, give affiliates some general information and provide specific codes and details as key dates approach.

3. Encourage Affiliates : You can encourage the affiliates to show up ads for their visitors with special sale messaging at the appropriate times and will revert back to evergreen messaging once the sale is over.

4. Offering incentives/bonuses  : You can inform your affiliates that you will provide some incentives or bonuses for hitting sales thresholds that encourage affiliates to promote your holiday offers.

5. Competitive sale offer : In holiday seasons the offers must be different from other times in the year. These offers should be competitive enough to other brands offerings.

6. Sufficient Affiliate Account Funds : let your affiliates ensure you that they have sufficient funds to project your offers for sale.

7. Online shopping : Online shopping ensures continuous offers from online stores which will never stop after Cyber Monday. There should be separate messaging to last through the whole holiday season.

8. Provide Affiliates Product Offerings : You should educate the affiliates for promoting the most important products of the season. Affiliates love hearing about best-selling products and other high converters in online market.

9. Category Based Product Promotion : Never forget to promote specific products which may bring large sales. even it is found that more specific offers are more effective at catching the eyes of specific buyers.

10. Don’t Show Site Updates : Before big shopping periods, try avoiding site updates. It will be painful if new updates turned into big glitches during a time of heavy online shopping time.

11. Track Your Affiliates :  In case it doesn’t work as it should, you could lose affiliates forever when they see that they didn’t convert as they’d expect. Its always recommended to track the affiliates.

12. Offer free shipping and free returns : You should always set yourself apart from the pack while sharing your offerings over online store. It is the season of giving, after all.

Another very important thing to remember is that while there are specific days over the course of the next few weeks set for shopping activity, your affiliate plan should last through to the New Year to ensure that it’s a holiday hit and it will continue its ongoing deals.

Google May Lose Search Default In Apple's Safari

Posted By: Arin Dey - November 27, 2014
Google lost its opportunity for being the default main search engine in Mozilla’s Firefox and now it seems that Apple also excludes Google search from its web browser Safari too. According to online news, Yahoo and Microsoft’s Bing are trying their luck for Apple to become the default search engine in Apple’s Safari browser as Google’s contract expires next year.
Yahoo has already defeated Google by owning the default search title in Mozilla's Firefox. Mozilla’s browser is one of the biggest desktop browser used worldwide. Losing the deal with Apple would be another blow to Google.

Safari is widely used by people worldwide and is the largest share of the mobile market about 45 percent. Its mainly because of the iPhone and iPad users. It is also observed that few Android users prefer Safari over Google’s Chrome. It has already become a hot news that Apple may not renew its search engine deal with Google, which is its biggest competitor in the Smartphone market as of now.

Safari on iOS is already offering users to choose their own default search engine either Yahoo, Bing or DuckDuckGo instead of Google. Somehow it is difficult to find the setting to make the switch, so most users just use the current default: Google.

Lets see the future that Google is going to make regarding its search engine deals.

Mozilla Includes “One-Click Searches” To Firefox

Posted By: Arin Dey - November 26, 2014
Mozilla revealed the new royalty agreement with Yahoo last week regarding 5 years default search provider on Firefox beating Google. Within a week's time it has come up with another news that Firefox is adding  a feature which enables users to search with a single click. When users type a string into the Firefox search box, they will get a list of more organized search options from the default search engine. And even better, an array of buttons below these suggestions will allow users to choose which search engine or site they want to send the query to.

Lets see in the below example. Suppose, a user types "Mozilla" into the search box, they can search the term directly on Wikipedia.

Firefox is built with a set of pre-loaded search engines that are supported in different languages. Yahoo will be the new U.S. default search engine, Yandex will be the new default in Russia, and Baidu will remain the default in China.

This "one-click search engines" section in the settings helps user who can easily hide and show sites and alternate search options. Mozilla is also keep in introducing MDN, Stack Overflow, Yelp and dictionary sites are possible additions.

As per Mozilla the features are "coming soon to a Firefox near you!" but it didn't reveal when these updates will be rolling out. Hope this will help and take ahead Firefox from its closest rival Chrome.

Some Of The Rumoured Features Coming With Windows 9

Posted By: Arin Dey - September 18, 2014
Since a year we are hearing the news of Windows 9 launch. In between Windows upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1. A preview version of Windows 9 is now expected to be unveiled and it seems that we have a set date. Microsoft has scheduled to reveal Windows 9 on September 30, 2014.

Some Of The Rumoured Features Coming With Windows 9

Windows 9 - What's special?

Windows 9 is the product name for the next major Operating System from Microsoft. It is likely to be the numeric names given to the various versions of Windows according to its release.

What is meant by the word “Threshold”?

Threshold is the codename for the next version of Windows after Windows 8. Threshold is rumored as Windows 9.  Actually the codename refers to the wave of operating systems across Windows-based phones, devices and gaming consoles.

Any chance for 64 Bit platform ?

Since years, people have been saying that Microsoft should move to 64 bit platform. Once again, this is not going to be a controversial release. When a smartphone iPhone's iOS has 64 bit support then why not for Windows.

Windows 9 Release Date?

The rumor says that it will be available in April 2015 when Microsoft might release this Operating System to the public. In January 2014, Paul Thurrott, a Microsoft analyst said he believes the company plans to release Windows 9 (codenamed Threshold) in April 2015, less than three years after the release of Windows 8.

Some Rumored  Features Of Windows 9?

Here are some of the rumored improved features of Windows 9 :

1. Desktop And Modern UI :

Microsoft is planning to further merge the Desktop and Modern UI. Microsoft will allow Modern UI apps to run in the desktop. It will also allow Modern UI apps pinned to the Start Menu instead of a Start Screen. We can see it with Windows 8.1 already and may continue with subsequent updates for Windows 9 too.

2. Modified Start Button :

Windows users felt helpless when they didn't find the most popular "start button" in Windows 8. Later on, in its Windows 8.1 update they included the start button.  Windows has been doing R&D with its start menu button and it is expected that we will find some refined and better version with more categorized view of apps listings.

3. Redesigned UI :

A big move was there when Microsoft released Windows 8 after Windows 7.  It was a total change on how Windows looks and users were experiencing comfortability issues with the new interface.  In this case, there will be subtle changes but nothing aggressive like what they did previously.

4. Improved Integration With Bing :

Microsoft continues to run its search engine Bing along with all its OS versions. So, Windows 9 will be no exception. It is also expected that there will be some improved  and categorized integration with Bing what we see now in the next version of Windows.

5. Windows and Azure For Cloud Storage :

Microsoft has been pushing to leverage Azure for cloud storage. Microsoft may integrate parts of the Operating System into the cloud for storage purposes for string files, pictures, videos and other stuffs.

6. Balanced Power Management :

Microsoft has already improved the power management feature with Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 and this was very much expected. Subsequently it is very much expected to get more efficiency with its next version of Windows.

7. Gesture Recognition Feature :

Seeing other competitors, Microsoft may also integrate the gesture recognition feature in Windows 9. You can expect that it would introduce gesture based computing.

8. Enhanced Security :

Windows 9 could be better equipped with its security features along with fingerprint recognition. Microsoft has been using a good security feature from Windows 7 onwards and it is expected that it will continue this even it will improve with its major release.

Also find the below leaked video over net that reveals new Notification center in Windows 9.

As of now we can hope that the above features would be included in Windows 9. Lets wait for any further update from Microsoft Windows team regarding its forthcoming Windows 9.

Google Introduces Offline Mode To YouTube In India

Posted By: Arin Dey - September 16, 2014
After Google launched its low-cost fully featured Android One smartphones initiative in India, it added one more announcement and that is about YouTube. YouTube users in India will be able to save videos offline and watch them anywhere, any time, without a data connection. This announcement was made at an event in Gurgaon, India.

Google Introduces Offline Mode To YouTube In India

Ceasar Sengupta, YouTube executive announced at the event in India that "YouTube is popular here. You watch some videos again and again. How awesome would it be if you could keep watching them again and again without having to pay for data, and take the videos with you wherever you go?" said "Within the coming few weeks, much of YouTube will be available offline in India. This is huge, and our users will really, really like this. You can download a video once, save it to your phone, and watch it again and again."

It is not clear at the moment whether this new offline option is restricted to YouTube in India, or if this will be an Android only feature, but in either case, it is a big step forward for consumers here. Users will be able to save almost any video on the streaming service to their phones, tablets or computers. One interesting consideration here is to see how YouTube will be able to monetise these videos which are stored offline. Google did not mention as to when offline availability will launch in the country, nor has it stated whether the service will be available in other countries.

Hopefully it will introduce this service to other regions also. Lets wait for its official release for this offline "YouTube" mode.
